Adaptify Agent

Learn how to chat with the Adaptify Agent to edit articles, manage strategy, pull exact data, and run actions across your whole site.

The Adaptify Agent

The Adaptify Agent is a chat assistant built into the product. Instead of clicking through pages, you can simply tell it what you want: rewrite a section, schedule an article, clean up a keyword cluster, or pull an exact performance number. The agent understands the page you are on and can act on your behalf across the whole site.

What is the Adaptify Agent?

The agent opens as a sidebar next to your work — look for the Ask Adaptify button. It always knows which website you are working on and which page you have open, so you never need to explain the context. If you are looking at an article, it knows which article. If you have a cluster selected, it knows which cluster.

  • Type a request in plain language and press Enter. You can keep typing while the agent works: follow-up messages queue and send automatically.
  • Attach files for the agent to read and act on: PDFs, Word documents, spreadsheets, or a CSV of keywords it can import into your strategy.
  • Add images from your image library to discuss them or place them into an article.
  • Not sure what to ask? Every page offers ready-made suggestions you can send with one click.
  • Watch live progress updates while the agent works through longer tasks.

Where you will see it

The agent is available in the article editor for every account. On the other pages — Dashboard, Keyword Strategy, AI Strategy, Performance, Site Audit, Backlinks, Settings, and your plan page — the sidebar carries a Beta badge and is already enabled for most accounts.

It asks before it acts

The agent is designed to be safe to experiment with. Small edits happen directly, but anything meaningful or destructive follows a preview-and-confirm flow: the agent shows exactly what it plans to change and waits for your yes before touching anything.

  • Deleting clusters, removing keywords in bulk, changing your plan, archiving a site, or copying settings between sites always requires an explicit confirmation.
  • Article edits show a before-and-after preview you can toggle, and many changes — content edits, keyword removals, settings, plan changes — come with a one-click undo.
  • The agent matches records exactly. If you ask about a keyword or cluster it cannot find, it says so instead of silently acting on a similar one.

Ask the agent to…What happens
Create, rename, or delete clustersCluster structure is updated directly; deletions are confirmed first and can rebuild the strategy if you want a fresh start.
Merge, split, or reorder clustersIt reorganizes clusters and their keywords in one operation, keeping your priority order intact.
Pause a cluster or set its pillar pageClusters can be paused or reactivated in the content plan, and each cluster's target URL can be set, changed, or cleared.
Add, move, remove, or restore keywordsSingle keywords, bulk lists, or filtered selections — with undo available for removals.
Find more keywords for a clusterIt generates additional relevant keywords for the clusters you name, grounded in your existing strategy.
Import this CSVAttach a keyword CSV in the chat and it imports the keywords, optionally into the cluster you have selected.
Revise the whole strategy based on feedbackDescribe what you want changed across the entire strategy and it runs a larger AI revision in the background, with an email when it finishes — and a revert option if you disagree with the result.
Answer exact questionsCluster rankings, keyword counts, article status per keyword, and searches across the whole strategy.

In AI Strategy and AI visibility

Ask the agent to…What happens
Create or remove AI clusters and promptsYour GEO strategy tree is updated, with confirmation before anything is deleted.
Generate more promptsIt creates additional AI-style prompts for a cluster following your instructions.
Create an article from an AI searchIt queues a new GEO article connected to the exact prompt and search you name.
Track a custom brand promptA prompt you care about is added to Brand Mentions tracking.
Report on AI visibilityTop cited prompts and posts, rising content, visibility momentum, and platform breakdowns over 7-day, 30-day, or 3-month windows — plus CSV export.

In Performance, Site Audit, Backlinks, and Settings

Ask the agent to…What happens
Pull exact SEO numbersTop articles, pages, and keywords; improving and declining rankings; clicks; indexing status; and how keywords map to your articles.
Share reports and get unstuckIt can hand you the share link for your performance or AI visibility report, point you to Request Indexing when pages are slow to index, and explain how to export any table.
Work with the site auditIt explains any check or recommendation, refreshes the audit, and hides checks that do not apply — with undo if you change your mind. It can also share the report link.
Manage backlinksOverview of placed and pending backlinks with domain rating summaries. It can request a replacement or update for a placed link, retract a pending pitch, create or update your author profile and backlink settings, and export the table to CSV.
Change site settingsIt reads and updates the settings you would otherwise edit by hand, confirms risky toggles first, and supports undo.
Copy settings to another siteYour writing, SEO, linking, and image preferences can be copied from one of your sites to another — always previewed before anything is written, never including credentials or billing.
Manage the planIt explains your current plan, publishing schedule, and pricing, then previews any plan change and applies it only after you confirm. It can also reactivate an archived website, or archive one you no longer need — always with explicit confirmation.

One conversation, the whole product

You do not need to be on a page for the agent to work with it. Ask about your keyword strategy while editing an article, or check backlink progress from the dashboard — the agent reads and acts across product areas from wherever you are.

That makes multi-step requests natural. For example: "Find my three best-performing clusters, pick an unwritten keyword from each, and queue an article for every one of them." The agent gathers the data, proposes the articles, and confirms each creation with you before queueing it.

Conversations are saved per website. Reopen previous conversations from the sidebar history, start a fresh one anytime, and if a conversation began on another page, the sidebar shows where it started.

Memory: it gets better the more you use it

The agent has three kinds of memory, all scoped to the website you are working on.

MemoryHow it works
Site preferencesSay "remember this for this site" and the agent stores durable preferences about style, workflow, or communication — and applies them in future conversations.
Writing rulesIn the article editor, you can save reusable writing policies ("never open with a rhetorical question") that shape every article, not just the current one.
Conversation historyThe agent can search your past conversations on the same site, so you can ask "what did we decide about the pricing cluster last month?" and get a real answer.

One-off edit vs. lasting rule

"Remove this sentence" changes the current article once. "Remember: never mention competitor pricing" becomes a saved rule for all future writing on this site. The agent only saves lasting rules when you explicitly ask it to remember something.

Getting the most out of the Agent

Once the basics feel natural, these are the moves that separate casual use from running your whole SEO operation through chat.

  • Batch article creation: name several keywords or AI prompts in one message and the agent will queue articles for each, confirming one at a time.
  • Skip the spreadsheet: drop a keyword CSV straight into the chat and say "import these into the selected cluster".
  • Be precise about scope: "add these exact keywords" does a literal bulk add, "find more keywords for this cluster" triggers AI generation, and "rework the whole strategy" launches a full background revision with an email when it is done.
  • Use it as a fact engine: "which keywords moved into the top 10 this month?" or "how many unwritten keywords are in the pricing cluster?" gets you exact numbers, not estimates.
  • Clean up published content fast: "remove every mention of our old product name" sweeps body, titles, meta, and image alt text in one request.
  • Point instead of describing: press "Add to chat" on any article section or image and the agent knows exactly which part you mean.
  • Insert images your way: pick one from your image library and say "insert this after the intro, unchanged" — or ask the agent to save a new image to the library for reuse.
  • No need to wait: keep typing while the agent works — follow-up messages queue and send automatically when it is ready, and you can edit or reorder them before they go.
  • Ask "is this article ready to publish?" before you hit the button — you get a concrete checklist of what passes and what does not.
  • Set up a new client site in minutes: "copy the writing and image settings from my main site to this one" — previewed before anything changes.
  • It doubles as a help desk: ask "how do backlinks work?" and it searches the Adaptify course and links you straight to the right module.
  • When a pitch or backlink is not right, tell the agent why. Your feedback feeds directly into how future pitches are written.
  • If the agent cannot do something yet, it will hand you a pre-filled feature request instead of pretending it worked — use it, the team reads them.

Common questions

Will the agent change things without asking me?

No. Small, reversible edits happen directly, but destructive or significant changes — deleting clusters, changing your plan, bulk-removing keywords, copying settings — always show a preview and wait for your confirmation. Many changes also come with a one-click undo.

Does it only know about the page I have open?

No. It uses your current page as context, but it can read data and take action across your entire site: articles, keyword strategy, AI strategy, performance, audit, backlinks, settings, and plan.

Can it publish articles?

Yes. From the article editor conversation it can schedule articles, request publishing, cancel a pending publish, mark an article as published with its live URL, and refresh WordPress metadata.

What happens with long-running tasks?

Bigger jobs like a full strategy revision or an article rewrite run in the background. The agent reports the queued status in the conversation, and for strategy revisions you can opt into an email when the work completes.

What happens if I run into an issue?

Tell the agent directly — it can often correct course, undo a change, or explain what went wrong. You can also use the Report Issues button at the bottom of the sidebar to send feedback straight to the team, and after some conversations you may be asked whether your request was resolved. If something is truly stuck, reach out through the Get Help page and our support team will take it from there.
